Super Sustainable Buildings via Thermal Dynamics & Passive Solar.
An Earthship is a type of passive solar house that is made of both natural and upcycled materials (such as earth-packed tires). Earthships can be completely off-grid or partially off-grid. Earthships can be built in any part of the world, in any climate (with a permit) and still provide electricity, potable water, contained sewage treatment and sustainable food production.
Earthships are thermal mass homes first,
passive solar homes second.
Whatever temperature goes into an Earthship, it will hold… and since it is also a Passive Solar House, it is also very tight and interacts only with the sun and the earth for heating and cooling, providing stable comfort year round in any climate.
Thank you Earthship Biotecture! The construction plans and drawings seem complete and well done. My husband and I are glad to have them for our extended family, we will see which person has the opportunity to build a wonderful off-grid home that is complete within itself and beautiful and comfortable. One of my favorites is the earthship built in Ontario, Canada., for $70,000. Our eldest son has several lots in the county located just outside of Klamath Falls, Oregon which are on a south-facing hillside. Someday he or one of his children may be able to have an earthship build there. There are other empty lots which others could follow suit. So just dreaming for now but hoping someone in our family gets to build this.
Well drawn out but missing details in few places, I will have to contact Earthship Biotecture to get more clarification on few things.
Thanks for your plans! I am thankful for the price you're selling them at, and appreciate all the detail in them.
One thing I wish the purchase came with was a digital collection of all the documents I'll need to send my engineer in .pdf format.
I'm not sure how to do this now because the pages are oversize so scanning it is out of the question. I might have to snap photos of the pages they want and upload it that way. The only downside is they could be difficult to see in photo format, which is why I wish I had everything in .pdf.
Anyways, I'm excited to begin building my Earthship Global! :) God bless Michael Reynolds and your entire team down there at Earthship Biotecture from everyone at Letsgrowfarm.ca here in Montague, Ontario, Canada.
